Community education is about bringing learning into local communities in a way that is inclusive, respectful, and empowering. At City of Dublin FET College (formally the City of Dublin ETB Adult Education Service) we offer:
- Free or low-cost courses developed in partnership with local community groups
- Learning that’s shaped by real needs and lived experiences of the people taking part
- Support from a team of friendly, experienced tutors
- Courses that build confidence and teach new skills
Community education is especially for adults who may have:
- Had a difficult or negative experience with school
- Missed out on learning opportunities in the past
- Faced disadvantage or felt excluded from education
Through community education, learners can:
- Build self-confidence and make meaningful connections
- Take steps toward further education, training, or work
- Explore learning in a group setting that is friendly, supportive, and open to new ideas
- Take part in all kinds of learning—whether accredited or not
Above all, community education is about giving everyone a fair chance to learn, grow, and be included.
