Moving into further education, training, employment and adult life can be an exciting time, but it can also raise questions about what support is available.
We want to help our learners, families and supporters find the information they need to make informed choices about their future.
The My Life, My Future: Disability Support Hub, developed by CareersPortal.ie in partnership with the HSE, brings together information about disability supports, services, rights and opportunities. It provides guidance for people with disabilities, families and professionals at different stages of life.
It also signposts learners and families to organisations such as Intreo, Citizens Information, the Department of Social Protection, HSE Disability Services, the National Advocacy Service and Family Carers Ireland.
Planning for the Future
At City of Dublin FET College Finglas, Barry Road, we support learners to develop their skills, confidence and independence and to explore their options for the future. This may include progressing to further education or training, developing skills for employment or exploring other opportunities within their community.
We encourage learners and families to explore the supports available and to consider what the learner wants to achieve, what support they may need and what pathways are available to them.
