Why not join our Headstart in the Community programme this Autumn?

What is Headstart in the Community?

Headstart is a part-time 7-week course for adults seeking to explore their educational opportunities.

  • Find out about your different education options.
  • Learn more about your skills, strengths & goals.
  • Take part in classes in DCU, City of Dublin FET College Ide and the Adult Education Service (City of Dublin FET College) in Barry Road, Finglas.
  • Meet a Guidance Counsellor to get a personalised education plan and individual support with returning to education.

This programme is a partnership between Dublin City University and the Adult Education Service (City of Dublin FET College) in Finglas in an effort to improve access to education for:

  • People from communities lacking a strong tradition of participation in third-level education.
  • Adults who have been out of education for a long time, or who did not complete a Leaving Certificate.
  • People whose skills no longer allow them to access the labour market.

The course will run on Friday mornings from 16th October to 4th December 2026.
