Gaeilge le Chéile – Intensive Irish Course

City of Dublin FET College Barry Road, Finglas recently celebrated the success of Gaeilge le Chéile, an innovative pilot programme funded by Adult Literacy for Life and delivered in partnership with local schools.

Over three weeks, learners attended daily Irish language classes to build their confidence in using Gaeilge at home and in their children's schools. Alongside practical language learning, participants enjoyed a range of fun activities through Irish, including bodhrán making and playing, yoga, pizza making and a visit to Aon Scéal Café in Tallaght, where they had the opportunity to practise their Irish in a real-life setting.

The programme received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with learners reporting increased confidence, stronger connections with their children's learning and a renewed enthusiasm for the Irish language.
